I am particularly interested in painting situations where light strikes objects and produces a high contrast between light and shadow.
Portraits

I particularly enjoy painting portraits. I usually start from a high contrast photograph that I print in the same scale of the final painting.
Replicas of Old Masters works
(oil on canvas or panel)
I like challenges, and to test my skills by reproducing famous pieces of work from the Old Masters. I always make an effort to utilize the same techniques and colours of the original paintings.
Many paintings have a step by step illustrated description that shows how they were created.
